Pikalevsky Cement Plant Сompleted Modernization of Grinding Facility

Pikalevsky Cement plant in the Leningrad Region completed the modernization and technical re-equipment of the cement grinding facility. The investment amounted to a total of 350 million rubles. The project was implemented in two stages. The first stage was completed in August 2019.

The construction and installation works, repairs of buildings and structures, reconstruction of air supply and aspiration systems, and an upgrade of the electric power infrastructure were carried out within the framework of the project.

The modernized grinding facility has installed equipment of such producer as KHD, Aumund and others. Modernization was carried out without stopping the grinding operations at Pikalevcement.

The first batches of cement were produced and tested under the supervision of equipment producers as part of the commissioning.

The compressive strength of cement at the age of 28 days increased by an average of 10 MPa, allowing for the production of high-strength concrete and production costs reduction.

According to the plant’s representatives, modernization also improved and stabilized another important indicator — water separation.

“The second stage of the investment project was a response to consumer demands in the current market conditions and increased the enterprise’s ability to expand the range of high quality products,” says CEO of Pikalevsky Cement, Andrey Vashilov.

The Pikalevsky cement plant is one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in the North-West Federal District. The production capacity of the enterprise amounts to 2.6 million tons of cement per year.
