Authorities in Afghanistan's Logar Province have announced the completion of preparatory works for the Altamur cement plant. Construction is expected to begin in the coming days following final approval of the project documentation.

On 25 July 2026, an Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev held meetings in Afghanistan with Herat Governor Nur Ahmad Islamjar and Bamyan Governor Al-Haj Qari Gul Haidar.
