Bach Dang Cement JSC has officially commissioned the Lien Khe cement plant in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The new facility features a 3,500t/day clinker production line, with a cement production capacity of 1.5–1.7Mt/yr.

Votorantim Cimentos has announced an investment of BRL 260m to expand its cement plant in Xambioá, Tocantins, Brazil. The project includes the construction of a new cement grinding line, which will increase the plant's production capacity by 500,000tpa to 1.5Mta. The new line is scheduled to begin operations in July 2028.

The Mineral Products Association of Great Britain (MPA) called on the government to give priority to British construction materials in the implementation of major public projects. The statement was made at a parliamentary reception on 30 June, where representatives of the cement industry, MPs, members of the House of Lords, ministers and officials discussed the role of cement in supporting the country’s construction plans.

SaltX Technology, Holcim and Paebbl are implementing a demonstration project for electrified cement production and the utilization of captured CO₂ across the industrial value chain. The project has received funding through the CET Partnership, an EU programme supporting energy and climate technologies.

Spirit Energy, a Centrica business, has announced a major milestone in the development of the Morecambe Net Zero (MNZ) Peak Cluster project, the world’s largest cement decarbonisation project. The UK’s North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has advanced the project into the Assess Phase under carbon storage licence (CS010), a key step toward preparing a permit application for underground CO₂ storage.
