Heidelberg Materials completed the divestment of its business in Gambia with the sale of its cement terminal in the Gambian capital Banjul to B5 Plus.

As construction activity increases in the Siberian regions, demand for fly ash is growing. Its use helps reduce production costs without sacrificing quality. Since the beginning of 2023, thermal power stations in Novosibirsk and Barnaul have increased their fly-ash sales.

Krasnoyarsk Cement (a subsidiary of Sibcem Holding) sums up the results of work for six months of 2023. In the period from January to June, the company produced 333.8 thou. tonnes of cement. Compared to last year, the production volume increased by 19 %.

After an unstable first half for the Brazilian economy marked by high interest rates, high debt and family defaults, cement sales accumulated a 1.8% drop compared to the same period of 2022 with the sale of 30.3 million tons in the first six months of the year.

The Ministry of Construction said that production and consumption of some key construction materials in the first half of the year declined sharply.

On 13 June, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of China Energy Song Hailiang, during which they discussed the current state of the implementation of joint projects and prospects for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation. During the meeting, the progress of the implementation of projects for the construction of photovoltaic stations in the Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions with a total capacity of 1000 MW and a cement plant in Samarkand region with a capacity of 3 million tons was considered in detail.

Nigeria’s second-largest cement producer, BUA Cement, has gotten a $500 million financing package from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop two new production lines in Sokoto State.
