Iskitimcement commissioned a new bag filter for rotary kiln No. 7

Iskitimcement part of Sibcem Group) has commissioned rotary kiln No. 7 after the technical upgrade of the grate cooler aspiration.

During the event the Managing Director of Iskitimcement Vladimir Skakun described the fundamental changes in the operation of the equipment. If earlier a cyclone unit was used to clean the polluted excess air of the grate cooler of the rotary kiln No. 7, now it has been completely replaced by a modern bag filter of high capacity. According to the manufacturer's data, the equipment provides a high degree of gas purification. The dust concentration in the air coming from the cooler into the atmosphere is no more than 10 milligrams per one cubic meter.

Aspiration upgrade of rotary kiln No. 7 will allow Iskitimcement to significantly reduce its environmental impact. After installation of a new bag filter behind the grate cooler, the planned reduction of emissions of non-organic dust containing from 20 % to 70 % of silicon dioxide SiO2 into the atmospheric air will amount to about 99 %.

About 350 million rubles with tax included were invested in the project's realization.

It should be reminded that technical re-equipment of aspiration of the grate cooler of rotary kiln No. 7 was carried out within the framework of the Environmental Efficiency Enhancement Program (EEEP) - an integral part of the comprehensive environmental permit. It provides for six measures to reduce air emissions. The installation of a modern bag filter at Kiln No. 7 is the third project carried out by Iskitimcement as part of the EEEP. Earlier, in September 2022, the company commissioned rotary kiln No. 9: a new bag filter and a highly efficient gas burner were installed at the unit. The total financial investment in the implementation of the two projects at furnace No. 9 amounted to about 350 million rubles. The remaining three EEEP measures are planned to be carried out by the end of 2027 - replacement of gas burners at rotary kilns No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8.

Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Alexander Cherepanov, Vice President for Investment Development at Sibcem Group, noted that the launch of rotary kiln No. 7 is of special significance for Sibcem Holding  as well. "The year 2024 is an anniversary year not only for the Iskitim cement plant: Siberian Cement Group turns 20 years old. The holding is actively mastering and introducing the most efficient technologies, including those in the environmental safety of production, in order to continue to responsibly fulfill its main task - to provide builders with products of consistent high quality,"
