Cement markets of Spain and Italy
An analysis of the situation in the two hardest-hit cement markets is given, where a strong deflation becomes a normal condition – the cement markets of Spain and Italy. It is noted that while in Spain the most important reason is the decline in cement production due to the downturn in construction compared to its recent unreasonably high growth, then in Italy, the main factor is the weakness of the market, which becomes manifest in its highly fragmented structure and the lack of an obvious leader.Author: J.-Ch.
