Leading building solutions provider Holcim Philippines, Inc. is excited to bring Holcim ECOPlanet, its most environment-friendly product, to Davao to provide partners a sustainable and high-performance building material as they continue advancing development in Mindanao.

GCC, a leading producer of cement and concrete in the United States and Mexico, announced that it will execute a capacity expansion at the plant located in Odessa, Texas. The project will increase annual cement production capacity by over one million metric tons and lower the plant’s greenhouse gas intensity by 13%.

As part of its expansion and consolidation plan, Argos, a Grupo Argos company, plans to add to its aggregates production capacity in Colombia another 2 million tons by 2024 (currently 2.5 million tons by 2024).

CEMEX announced that it has added nearly 200 lower-carbon natural gas-powered trucks as part of a comprehensive strategy seeking to decarbonize its global fleet. This initiative is part of the company’s flagship Future in Action program to become a net-zero CO2 company by 2050.

Holcim announces its financial investment in Magment, to expand their existing collaboration in the breakthrough field of road-based electric charging solutions. Together the companies have jointly developed an innovative concrete formulation enabling wireless inductive charging technology.

Holcim has successfully completed the acquisition of SES Foam LLC, the biggest independent spray foam insulation company in the US with 2022 (est.) net sales of USD 200 million. SES has a track record of double-digit growth, with advanced energy-efficiency and bio-based solutions for new and green retrofitting projects.

During the first six months of 2022, cement and clinker sales volumes, amounting to 5.4 million tonnes, dropped by 0.8% compared to the same period of 2021. The decline is mainly attributable to the
performance of Turkey, China and Denmark.
