India’s Ambuja Cement continues the implementation of its capacity expansion program. By the end of October-December 2026, the company’s total capacity stands at 109 Mta of cement and 66 Mta of clinker.

Mexican building materials producer Cemex has announced that it is in the process of divesting certain operations in Colombia. The divestment is expected to take place through several separate transactions with different parties by the end of the year.

The Swiss company Holcim has agreed to acquire building materials and solutions operations in Colombia in a deal valued at 485 million USD.

The Syrian state-owned General Company for Cement and Building Materials Industry and Marketing (OMRAN) has begun receiving shipments of clinker from Egypt under an agreement with the Egyptian company. The deliveries follow a memorandum of understanding signed by the two parties in Cairo on January 29.

The government of Senegal has acquired a 10 percent stake in the local subsidiary of Dangote Cement. Following the transaction, Dangote Cement’s ownership in the Senegalese unit decreased from 99.99 percent to 89.99 percent. The state has become a minority shareholder.
