A Nose Ring for a Rotary Kiln Delivered Whole to Spassk-Dalny Cement Plant From China
Spasskcement plant (part of Vostokcement holding) in the city of Spassk-Dalny in the Primorsky Territory received a nose ring for its rotary kiln. The ring with a diameter of almost eight meters (7.65 to be precise) made of extra-durable steel was manufactured at the largest industrial plant in China. The plant belongs to YTO Group Corporation and is located in Luoyang, eastern Henan.
According to Vostokcement holding, the ring was transported with unprecedented safety measures to keep its structure intact.
The Luoyang factory was built as the first specialized tractor production facility in 1955 with the participation of Soviet engineers. Now the plant belongs to YTO Group Corporation — the manufacturer of industrial and agricultural equipment. YTO Group is part of Sinomach — China National Machinery Industry Corporation, specializing in equipment for the cement industry.
Vostokcement says the plant in Luoyang has one of the largest free forging presses in the world. It was this equipment that made producing a nose ring of such dimensions possible in just four months.
The optimal transportation route was developed before ordering a ring. The route was audited by the international freight forwarding company Agility. The ring arrived by sea, through the port of Shanghai to Pervomaisky port of Vladivostok. A retaining frame was additionally manufactured to evenly distribute the weight of the cargo on the trawl, and make the transportation of the nose ring possible.
The ring was delivered to Spassk-Dalny at night when there was minimal traffic on the roads. The tractor unit transporting the ring was accompanied by an extra unit and four cars. The transportation took more than a day, says head of the Tiger Truck procurement department Roman Bezugly.
Nose rings for kilns were usually delivered to Spasskcement in parts and assembled later on site. It is necessary to stick to the technological process during assembly and sustain the geometry. Otherwise, serious damage to the equipment is possible to occur. Now, the cement plant in Spassk-Dalniy has two rotary kilns with eight nose rings. The new, ninth ring is going to be a backup one.

Spasskcement is a full-cycle enterprise producing 12 types of cement. This year, Vostokcement holding got the first million tons of products from the plant in Spassk-Dalniy.
