Automatic packaging complex installed at the Topkinsky cement plant

A new packaging complex for palletizing and packing cement bags in stretch film was put into operation in the finished products department of OOO Topkinsky Cement (a subsidiary of OAO HC Sibcem).

The modern packaging complex can put out up to 80 pallets per hour. The equipment operates in a fully automatic mode - it stacks bags with cement on pallets and wraps them in stretch film by itself. The shop staff controls the palletizer operation, adjusts it depending on the production tasks, selects the grade and number of bags per pallet, loads consumables on the conveyor.

The Topkinsky Cement Plant has been offering palletized cement to consumers since 2016, but previously the sales volumes were small, as the entire packaging was done manually. By automating the packing line, the amount of shipment of this type of product increased from 25 to 80 pallets per hour. Thus, today the production capacity of the plant can ship up to 1200 tons of cement on pallets per day.

"In 2019, our company for the first time sent to consumers palletized products by rail - previously only motor transport was used for its delivery. The customers highly appreciated the innovation and expressed a desire to buy building material only in this format in the future, - emphasizes Alexei Ospelnikov, Managing Director of OOO "Topkinsky Cement". - In the last four years there is a trend of increased sales of palletized products on the cement market. Soon this indicator may reach 67% in the total sales of packed cement".
