Holcim to acquire building materials business in Colombia

The Swiss company Holcim has agreed to acquire building materials and solutions operations in Colombia in a deal valued at 485 million USD.

The acquired operations are projected to generate around 360 million USD in net sales in 2026. The transaction will significantly expand Holcim’s operational footprint in the country by adding more than 20 production sites, including the Caracolito cement plant, the Santa Rosa grinding station, and a network of ready-mix concrete, aggregates, mortars and admixtures plants.

Following the acquisition, the assets will complement Holcim’s existing operations in Colombia, which include one cement plant, eight ready-mix concrete plants, one admixtures plant, one aggregates plant and more than 150 Disensa retail stores.

Holcim expects run-rate EBITDA synergies of around 30 million USD per year by the third year after closing. The transaction is expected to be earnings-per-share accretive in the first year.

The acquisition is part of the company’s NextGen Growth 2030 strategy and aims to strengthen Holcim’s position in the Latin American market. The deal is expected to close around the end of the year, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approval.
