Çimko to Invest $200m in Integrated Cement Plant in Syria
Turkey’s Çimko, part of SANKO Holding, plans to invest approximately $200 million in an integrated cement plant in Al-Muslimiyah, north of Aleppo, Syria.
The project will be implemented in two phases and will have an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of clinker and 2 million tonnes of cement. Developed under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, the plant is expected to create around 200 direct jobs.
The project agreement was signed on 1 October 2026 by Adil Sani Konukoğlu, Chairman of SANKO Holding and Çimko, and Mahmud Fadile, General Manager of Syria’s OMRAN cement and building materials company.
The plant aims to meet regional cement demand and support the reconstruction of Syria’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.
