JSW Cement commissions new integrated plant in North India
JSW Cement has commissioned an integrated greenfield plant in Nagaur, Rajasthan, marking the company’s first such facility in North India.
The new plant has a clinker production capacity of 3.3 Mta and a cement production capacity of 2.5 Mta. The company also plans to expand cement capacity by an additional 1.0 Mta through a new grinding unit.
The project was designed with a focus on sustainable manufacturing. The facility is equipped with a 7 km overland belt conveyor for transporting limestone from the mines, helping reduce the environmental impact of road transport.
The plant is also expected to be equipped with a co-processing system for alternative fuels and a 16 MW waste heat recovery (WHR) system designed to capture waste heat from the production process, significantly lowering the plant’s carbon footprint.
Following the commissioning of the new facility, JSW Cement’s total cement grinding capacity has reached 24.1 Mta.
