Kavkazcement Connects Its Power Plant to Mobile Monitoring System

The largest cement producer in the North Caucasus, Kavkazcement announced that its gas piston thermal power plant is now connected to the mobile monitoring system. Operational data of the units is transmitted in real time allowing for timely diagnostics of production equipment.

The mobile monitoring technology was introduced at all plants of the EUROCEMENT group holding in 2018 and is based on the use of NFC tags and mobile identification devices. The system provides control over the functioning of technological equipment at all production stages.

“The mobile monitoring system speeds up and improves the quality of diagnostics, contributing  to the timely identification and prevention of possible malfunctions,” says Vice President of Production and Technical Development at EUROCEMENT Group, Yaroslav Stupa.

The dedicated power generator was installed at Kavkazcement last year, along with the construction of a new grinding facility. The total investment in the modernization project amounted to 2.5 billion rubles.

EUROCEMENT estimates that Kavkazcement will increase production from 1.4 million tons (as of 2019) to 2.4 million tons in 2020, while its design capacity is 3.4 million tons per year.
