Uzbekistan and Afghanistan Discuss Expansion of Cooperation in the Building Materials Industry

On 25 July 2026, an Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev held meetings in Afghanistan with Herat Governor Nur Ahmad Islamjar and Bamyan Governor Al-Haj Qari Gul Haidar.

The delegation included representatives of the Uzbek Association of Building Materials Enterprises (Uzsanoatqurilishmateriallari) and other relevant government agencies.

The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on the building materials industry, trade and economic relations, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, and investment projects.

According to the Uzbek side, exports of building materials from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan reached US$51.4 million in January–June 2026.
