The new generation of cement-free refractory concretes.

Information on newly developed by RHI unmolded refractory materials with a binder on the basis of colloidal silica marketed under the brand names COMPAC SOL and CARSIT SOL is provided. The new refractory concretes containing no cement are easy to use, safe and can withstand rapid heating. The mechanism of setting, the technological properties of concretes and the experience of their application as equipment lining in the cement industry are discussed.
