Upgrading the mill gear of a standard mill

Modernization of A2800 gear of the cement ball mill drive at the Semey cement plant is described. The original A2800 gear stages were replaced with new ones from VAKOMA®, retrofitting of the oil supply system was made and an oil station installed, followed by repairing the bearing seats and correct positioning of the shaft axes in the gearbox housing with a VAKOMA® mobile boring machine. The result of this work is stable and safe operation of the drive with vibration close to that of a new gear.
