Specifics of the phase composition formation of metakaolins and its influence on their properties

The processes that take place during the heat treatment of secondary kaolins from three deposits were examined. It is shown that the temperature required for metakaolin production depends on the chemical and mineralogical composition of the source kaolin and the degree of order in the crystal lattice of kaolinite.
