Training and education in the cement industry

The education of qualified personnel is a permanent challenge among the cement manufacturers. The need to reduce production costs and at the same time maintain a good product quality requires permanent training. Especially young co-workers joining the cement industry need to be made acquainted with the cement manufacturing process, the operation of the equipment as well as assuring clinker and cement quality. A continuous training and education is certainly needed for co-workers in existing plants. However, to a growing extent, a dedicated training is also required for introducing the plant personnel to new equipment, especially when it comes to the operation of complete new plants. VDZ has over the years developed dedicated training courses for the cement industry, which cover all phases of cement production. The training programme comprises the typical classroom education as well as simulator assistance for control room operators and even online courses. All education services can be provided in English, German and Russian, the online courses in Russian will be available from the beginning of next year.
