Influence of used tires combustion products on the quality of cement and concrete

Physical and chemical studies of the effect of iron oxides on the hydrolytic stability of clinker minerals and cement and the concrete obtained from them were made. The specifics of these processes in cements obtained from clinkers burned in rotary kilns together with steel cord-reinforced used tyres were examined. For comparison, studies were also made of clinker and cement produced in kilns where the said alternative fuel was not used. The results of the study yielded recommendations for the prevention of efflorescence on the finishing materials of ceiling surfaces.
