World cement industry in 2011

2010 was a mixed year for the global cement industry. Although emerging markets continued to grow, volumes fell further across the developed world and pricing also came under pressure. 2011 year is expected to have the similar trends. Visibility is very low – with cuts to infrastructure spending creating a major headwind in North America and Europe. The impact of monetary tightening in emerging markets has not yet been felt either. The article gives a forecast of cement industry development for the 2011 year.
