Cement Industry in China
The article discusses the changes in the cement industry of China in 1996–2010 that occurred as a result of the development strategy proposed in 1995. The country accounts for more than 50% of the global cement market. Moreover, if in 1995 82% of cement were produced in blast furnaces, it is forecast that in 2010 85% of cement production will be by the modern dry process. A considerable attention is paid to reducing energy consumption and emissions of harmful substances. Reorganization and mergers are now under way in the cement industry.Author: Kong Xiangzhong |
