Russian Cement Industry in 2010

In 2010 investment in construction in Russia was 1.5% higher than in 2009. The total scope of construction work in the first half of the year was 3.1% lower, while in the second half it grew as compared with the second half of 2009. 50.2 Mt of cement were produced in the country in 2010. In respect to 2009 the output rose by 13.4%, and in comparison with 2008 and 2007 it was lower by 6.6% and 16.4% respectively. The share of cement produced by wet technology plants in 2010 was 83.2% of the total amount.
