Practical determination of MAAG gear efficiency.

The article cites examples of efficiency calculations for MAAG reducers. It is shown that about 60% of all the electric power required for cement grinding is consumed by the ball mill drive. To determine the efficiency of a double planetary gear, the energy lost in the form of heat, carried away by oil and dissipated in the ambient air is measured.
It is shown in practice that the efficiency of a typical planetary gear manufactured by MAAG is 99±0.1%.
