Hydraulic activity of spent foundry moulding sands.
The article presents the results of determination by standard and special chemical methods, of the hydraulic activity of spent moulding sand (SMS) from three foundry facilities. It is established that the activity of those waste materials is determined by the kind of the binding substance in the initial moulding mix and decreases in the following sequence: clay > liquid glass > resin hardened by phosphoric acid. Efficiency of using the first two kinds of SMS to produce Portland cement with mineral additives is shown.Author: V.A. Pyachev, N.A. Mityushov, S.V. Blinov |
