Reduction of chromates in dry mortar formulation and in cements

Throughout the European Union since January 2005, the reduction of morbid water soluble chromates in cements and their follow-up products is compulsory.
The various chromate reductors - owing to their particular chemistry and physical characteristics - lead to completely different results in terms of storage stability, toxicity, neutrality of formula, costs and handling, logistics of systems. Furthermore, in regard to the application of chromate reductors in cements as well as their follow-up products, different dosage levels follow from the material requirements of the cements or products containing cement. The following essay deals with the contexts described above.
