Prospects of development of the cement industry in the Russian Federation up to 2010.

Against the background of recent years' world trends the Russian cement sector was seen to develop at a relatively steady rate. This enabled it to overcome the catastrophic recession of mid-1990-s and in 2005 reach a production level of million tons. Russia firmly occupies the sixth place in the world in cement production (behind China, India, the USA, Japan and South Korea) and the fifth place in terms of production capacities (69.2 Mt).
