Experience of application of UBPVD-S thyristor devices for smooth activation of synchronous motors of cement mills

The article reviews the system of stage-by-stage smooth star of 4 cement mills at Sebryakovsky cement plant from a single frequency converter with a DC link and natural Thyristor commutation. It provides data on the motor loads in the modes of its activation and synchronization .
Highlighted is the importance of the influence of smooth activation of motors on the reliability and no-fail operation of the drives(electric motors, reducers, cogged gears) of the main units in cement production.
