The worldwide cement industry: entering a new era. Our scenario for 2016

The article describes the situation in the worldwide cement industry in 2015 and gives its analysis. The data on dynamics of cement consumption and prices for cement is provided, the forecost for 2016 and further years is given. In 2015 China cement volumes declined substantially for the first year since 30 years. Presumable China downturn’s consequences are discussed. Probable variants of further merger and acquisition transactions are discussed. It is shown that due to some factors’ existence, in long term, the cement industry growth prospects in the Eastern Europe are good with a lot of potential in Central Asia.
