Experience-based burner improvement
In 2015, Austrian company Unitherm celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the burner with a single primary air supply channel (Mono Airduct System, M.A.S.) developed by them. Since the inception of M.A.S. the burner head has undergone significant changes. This article discusses some of the most important features of the design, making M.A.S. one of the most advanced burners for rotary kilns available today. Improvements have become possible due to the experience gained with the existing burners and computer simulation. The main changes relate to the supply systems for primary air and alternative fuels.Author: R. Ringdorfer |
