Effect of additives of ground slag on the early strength and hydration of slag Portland cement
The effect of additives obtained by grinding granulated slag on hydration and early compressive strength of slag Portland cement was examined. Grinding of granulated blast furnace slag with addition of sodium aluminate accelerated hydration of Portland cement component of blended cement containing 50% slag and 50% CEM I Portland cement, and slowed the hydration of slag particles. As a result the compressive strength of slag Portland cement increased at an early age (1 day – by 49% 2 days - by 44%, 7 days -by 20%).Author: D. Zimmer, K. Droll, M. Paul |
