Breaking new ground in separation.

High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) have been used in comminution applications since the early 1980`s. Both raw material and cement grinding circuits with High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) claime for special demands regarding the separation system. One of the most efficient cement grinding systems is an HPGR being operated in semi-finish grinding mode. It offers significant improvements concerning specific energy consumption and production capacity.
Maschinenfabrik Köppern, worldwide known as an exelent expert and producer of roller presses for different applications, developed especially for the HPGR application a compact separator - the 2-Stage Koesep. The optimized set-up combines a static and dynamic separation stage in one machine. Due to the special arrangement about 40% of construction height can be saved, compared to previously known separation systems. Beside the application for greenfield projects, the compact design of the 2-Stage Koesep makes it easy to upgrade existing plants.
Improvements of a cement plant modernization will be reported.
