Designing the cement plant of the future. Part II
This article discusses ways to reduce CO2 emissions from cement plants. In its second part, the possibilities of partial replacement of clinker with mineral additives as one of the means to achieve this goal, which has the greatest potential to influence the carbon footprint, are considered. Decrease in the clinker content of future cements leads to two potential outcomes. The first is that no additional clinker production may be required may be required to meet the projected future cement volumes. The second potential outcome is that major investments in cement plants of the future will go to the finish grinding shop.Author: J. Kline |
