Advances in the modification of concrete and the resulting achievements in concrete technologies
The role of building chemistry is improvement of the building materials by their modification. The admixtures had a spectacular effect on the development of concrete technology. In this case, very slight amount of the modifier (often below 1% of the cement mass) can cause a significant change of the concrete performance. The issues related to the various modifications (by admixtures, mineral and polymer additions, etc.) reflect in the achievements of the Conference Concrete Days, on which they were presented since the first edition of the event in 2000. The successes, prospects and challenges of the modern material modification of the concrete are presented in the paper.Author: P. Lukowski |
