Cement industry in Turkey

Turkey is one of the largest producers and exporters of cement in the world. In 2018, 70.3 Mt of clinker and 72.5 Mt of cement were produced in the country; 5.9 Mt of clinker and 7.5 Mt of cement were exported. All full-cycle plants produce cement by the dry method. The specific heat consumption at cement enterprises in Turkey in 2017 amounted to 805 kcal/kg of clinker. This figure is lower than the average in the European cement industry, as the share of new kilns operating on the state-of-the-art technologies is greater in Turkey.
