On the balance of interests of power generation and industry

The reform of the power generation industry of the Russian Federation provided for a significant reduction in the scope of state regulation of prices (tariffs) for electricity. However, the initial goals of reforms in the industry were not achieved. Today, the regulation of prices (tariffs) in the field of buying and selling electric power has generally remained monopolistic. The growth rate of the final price of electricity for plants and factories in recent years is significantly higher than the inflation rate.
In order to reduce price and tariff risks in energy supply, in addition to choosing the optimal electricity purchase scheme for a facility (in the wholesale or retail market) and using the most energy-efficient process equipment, more and more operations are trying to provide for their energy needs through in-house generation. The key tasks in optimizing the energy supply of an industrial facility are smoothing the peak loads of the operation and moving them outside the “regional peak”. To address these problems, the cycling power unit can be used.
In order to consolidate the efforts of industrial power consumers in the protection of their interests, the "Community of Power Consumers" association was set up to represent the interests of plants in the government bodies and industry associations that carry out regulation in the energy sector.
