Progress in the development of Ternocem

Ternocem® beliteye'elimite-ferrite cement (BYF) is one of the materials developed by the HeidelbergCement group that are an alternative to traditional cement and have a lower environmental impact. CO2 emissions from Ternocem are about 30 % lower than those from ordinary Portland cement. The production technology of this material has been developed. Pilot projects showed that it can be used in concrete for road pavements, precast concrete structures, railway sleepers, etc. Now it is prepared to be commercially available.
