Using Electrostatic Precipitators to Meet Future European Emission Standards

Electrostatic precipitators are widely used to capture particulate matter and flue gases in various industries. High efficiency and reliability made these dust collectors the main tool for cleaning large amounts of dusty gases with high temperature. However, tougher requirements for the residual concentration of solid particles call into question the potential of ESPs to do that. The advent of new materials for bag filters has led to a noticeable increase in their share in the equipment for cleaning high-temperature gases. The article discusses the practical experience of using ESPs after the cement kiln to achieve ultra-low PM emissions and highlights the main factors to ensure the results.
