Cement industry in Tajikistan

In 2013, intensive construction and commissioning of new cement production facilities equipped with modern process equipment began in the Republic of Tajikistan. This allowed the republic in the shortest possible time to cover its own requirements for cement and become an exporting country of this material instead of importing it. Its production from 2013 to 2018 increased tenfold, up to 3,844 million tonnes. The development plans for the national economy, which give priority to power engineer- ing and transport, demand an increase in the production of cement and other building materials. In accordance with this, it is planned to build a number of new cement plants in the country and bring the total cement produc- tion capacity to 7.0 million tonnes per year.
