Cement shipments to cost more
As we go into 2021, the dry bulk charter rates have already started to move up and it is expected that it will further move up this year. The increasing charter rates will push the cost of shipping cement higher. Meanwhile, the demand for cement and clinker will increase in 2021 as the construction activities, the world over, has resumed, which in turn, will generate demand for other dry bulk commodities, such as iron ore and coal. The ship supply is expected to increase slowly this year which will result in a contraction in the vessel oversupply. A decreasing oversupply will push the rates up.Author: R. Sharan |
