Determination of fluorine in the raw materials of cement production by X-ray fluorescence analysis

The procedure of quantitative determination of fluorine in the raw materials of cement production with X-ray fluorescent spectrometers manufactured by the international company Thermo Fisher Scientific is described. The obtained results have proved the possibility of operational and accurate determination of fluorine at its concentration of about 0.1 % wt. by the X-ray fluorescent method. A special attention was paid to the selection of optimal conditions of excitation and registration of the analytical signal, as well as the method of sample preparation when developing the prototype method of express control of the fluorine content.
