Turkish cement industry and its development priorities

Turkish Cement Producers Association (TÜRKÇİMENTO) is a non-governmental organization, registered in 1957 and given the status of a public organization. It represents 66 cement plants in the country, including 51 complete cycle plants and 15 grinding plants, which account for about 94% of the total design capacity of the industry. TÜRKÇİMENTO has been a member of the European Cement Association (CEMBUREAU) as a representative of the Turkish cement
industry since 1972. TÜRKÇİMENTO successfully performs numerous duties such as training courses, international relations, certification, industry data collection, cooperation with universities, non-governmental organizations, research institutions and services, etc. In 2021, cement production by TÜRKÇİMENTO member companies increased by 9.2% to 78.9 Mt, of which about 17.7 Mt was exported. In addition, approximately 11.8 Mt of clinker was exported from the country.
