Replacement of the natural gypsum stone in the production of cement with industrial wastes
The article is focused on the current problem of recycling phosphogypsum, one of the many types of industrial wastes generated in large amounts at OAO Gomel Chemical Plant. The authors present the results of studies of artificial gypsum rock production by neutralizing various types of phosphogypsum: calcium sulfate hemihydrate contaminated with phosphorus (a waste product of phosphoric acid extraction by hemihydrate method) and phosphorus-contaminated calcium sulfate dihydrate (a waste product of its production by dihydrate method). The experimental data confirmed the possibility of replacing the natural gypsum rock imported to the Republic of Belarus for the production of cement based on clinkers of Belarusian cement plants with the synthetic one and its effect on the hydration of clinker minerals.Author: V.I.
