Updating of domestic regulatory documents regarding the methods of assessing the reactivity of aggregates
The article gives a review and analysis of the main regulatory documents establishing methods of determining the reactivity of aggregates for concrete, developed by leading international standardization organizations - the Reunion Internationale des Laboratoires et Experts des Materiaux, Systemes de Construction et Ouvrages, RILEM), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC). The comparison of foreign documents with the current version of GOST 8267 has been carried out and the existing limitations in the current version of GOST 8269.0 have been exposed. The expediency of updating the conceptual framework, approaches to standardization of requirements and the methods of testing the potential reactivity of aggregates in the domestic regulatory documents is analyzed. Proposals are formulated to develop an algorithm of comprehensive assessment of aggregate reactivity for concrete and to choose a strategy to reduce the risk of internal corrosion of concrete depending on the operating conditions, expected service life and the level of the importance of structures.
