Handling the secondary waste from sorption purification of the accumulated high-level waste solution by cementation
The possibility of cementing secondary waste from sorption purification of the solution portion of accumulated high-level waste (HLW) located in storage tanks was studied. The flows of secondary waste generated after sorption purification were determined, and secondary waste that can be handled by cementation selected. Sorption purification of a model alkaline solution of HLW and curing of the evaporated model solution of HLW and spent sorbent in cement matrices were carried out. Data on the mechanical strength of the original samples of cement compounds and samples after freeze-thaw cycles were obtained. Results were obtained on the leaching rate of cesium 137 from a cement compound
