Utilization of the heat loss from the kiln shell
The concept and results of mathematical modeling and laboratory studies of the heat exchange system at the cement plant of Kerman Momtazan Cement Company (Iran) are described, in which the heat of the rotary kiln shell is used to heat the working fluid (water and hydraulic oil). This heat-carrying fluid is suitable for heating or for technical and domestic needs of the plant. The modeled system allows for the utilization of about 4% of the heat radiated by the kiln shell, which is equivalent to heat generation when burning about 20 m 3 of natural gas per hour.
