Turkish cement industry in 2023

In 2023, clinker production by companies belonging to the Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TÜRKÇIMENTO) increased by 1.2 % (to 73.0 Mt) and cement production by 10.5 % (to 81.5 Mt) compared to the same indicator in 2022. Turkey's total cement production increased by 9.9 % to 84.6 Mt, including non-TÜRKÇIMENTO plants. Total domestic sales of the industry in 2023 are estimated at 68.9 Mt, of which 65.0 Mt were sold by TÜRKÇIMENTO member plants, showing an increase of 18.2 % and 19.0 % respectively compared to 2022 (58.3 Mt and 54.6 Mt). Total exports of clinker and cement from the country, which amounted to 27.2 Mt in 2022, decreased by 27.6 % (to 19.7 Mt) in 2023.
