Digital twins and artificial intelligence in cement manufacturing
A digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical object or process. Utilizing such copies it becomes possible to conduct virtual tests, run different scenarios and prognose properties and behavior of the production line and the product in advance to any industrial trials on real equipment, and also to determine opportunities for optimization of production, logistics and business processes. The conception of digital twins allows for swift and inexpensive testing and modelling of different plant operation scenarios. In the article the Cementos Argos company shares its experience in development and implementation of digital twins to their cement assets and depict positive outcome the company achieved.Author: Aljadis Amir Sánchez Camero, Estefan Wolff Tobón |
