Prospects for import substitution of raw materials for Portland cement production in the Republic of Belarus
The article considers the main areas of use of industrial waste from enterprises of the Republic of Belarus, including phosphogypsum, in the production of Portland cement. When using phosphogypsum as a regulator of the setting time of Portland cement, it is necessary to take into account the composition of impurities, which changes depending on the feedstock for obtaining extraction phosphoric acid. It is shown that the use of the industrial waste — the sludge from the neutralization station of OAO Gomel Chemical Plant (Gomel) in the composition of the cement raw mix in an amount of 0.5–1.5 % by weight makes the firing of cement clinker in a rotary kiln more and, as a result, allows reducing the firing temperature by 100–150 °C. The prospects for recycling spent refractories from cement plants, which are currently not recycled but stored at the plants, which is an irrational use of a valuable resource, are also considered.
