Optimization of the composition of non-autoclaved aerated concrete with the addition of surface sewage sludge

In the context of a shortage of traditional building materials and increasing demands for environmental sustainability, the use of man-made waste in the production of aerated concrete is becoming a promising approach. This study aims to develop non-autoclaved aerated concrete and to optimize its composition by incorporating dry wastewater sludge used to partially replace sand. Experiments have shown that adding 30–45 % of the sludge improves the strength characteristics of aerated concrete without increasing its density and while maintaining its thermal insulation proper ties. The results confirmed that the content of sewage sludge significantly affects the strength and density of the material. Optimal compositions of aerated concrete with its addition can become the basis for eco-friendly building materials that promote waste recycling and reduce the environmental burden.
